Potato and Celeriac Gratin

Unfortunately no photo, as we ate it before we had time to take any photos – next time maybe we will be quicker with the camera!

½ cream
½ milk
½ tsp of nutmeg
salt & pepper
½ tsp of mace

Butter a heavy open proof dish. Peel and thinly slice equal quantities of potatoes and celeriac, the amount will depend on the number of mouths to be fed.  Do alternating layers of potato and celeriac, with seasoning between each layer and some sauce.  When you have finished the layering, top off with some grated Parmesan and put in the oven at 200°C or gas mark 6.
